I rarely photograph weddings for close friends anymore because I realized it’s pretty darn fun to party with my friends, but I made an exception for these two and I’m so happy I did. I scouted the property before it all began, and made sure Adam and Jenn set aside ample time in the best light to sneak off and make portraits after their ceremony. I was the “friend-tographer” for the first part of the day, and when their photographer for the reception arrived at cocktail hour, I transformed into the dancing fool I am to shake it with the best of them. Adam has been like a big brother to me since I was welcomed into their tight knit group of friends over ten years ago when my now husband Russell and I began dating. Adam was the Best Man at our wedding, and Russell was a groomsman for this one. Needless to say, I was thrilled to meet Jenn a few years back because she’s a thoughtful and funny match to Adam’s dry sense of humor, and big-picture pondering. Russell and I were giddy when they texted us from Ireland to say they got engaged.

Everything about this wedding just felt right. They found the perfect spot to host their wedding weekend next to a farmhouse the property of Meadowburn Farm in New York. Adam is a painter, and has long crafted things out of wood. He made his own wedding band out of a block of wood, and gave Jenn a bracelet with a bead made from the interior of the ring. I could go on and on, but I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story.
