It is such a compliment when a fellow creative person like a musician, illustrator, designer, or photographer chooses me to photograph their wedding because they work daily pursuing their own creative vision and they tend to have a finely attuned visual taste. When I sat down with Harper, a talented wedding photographer, and her fiancè Matthew, I had butterflies. These two are so kind, warm and sweet to each other and everyone around them. It was a joy to document their wedding day and even better with Justin Tsucalas on my team. After the wedding, I always get so excited to review the images from my second photographer, and because I work with such rock solid photographers, my favorite images from the day are often theirs! This wedding was no exception. Harper and Matthew had the perfect combination of a country/city wedding weaving in locations that are important to both of them.

From Harper, the Bride:

There was never a doubt that our wedding day celebrations would be in Baltimore.  The ceremony was truly a family affair and was one of my favorite parts of the day.  My father is an ordained Episcopalian minister, so while he walked me down the aisle, my brother acted as co-officiant and stood at the altar reading the opening lines.  Music is a big part of our lives, so we incorporated a hymn into the service.  During the hymn, my father put on his stole and then officiated the remainder of the service.  The intimacy of the chapel allowed the guests to feel like family, and I remember looking out into the pews and seeing so many smiling faces looking down on us. The biggest draw we had to our reception venue was its location on the harbor.  Matt and I have lived in a neighborhood along the water for the past 5+ years, so this was familiar to us, and we wanted our out-of-town guests to feel the essence of the Baltimore we’ve grown to love.
